This session will focus on how to avoid retirement planning pitfalls that many business owners encounter.  We will discuss

  • How to successfully exit a business
  • The importance of succession planning as it relates to retirement planning
  • The importance of saving for retirement outside of the business


Maurice has spent the last 15 years serving small business owners, professionals, and retirees through the financial services industry. Three of those years, he served in operations, while he’s been a financial advisor/planner for the past twelve years. He holds a B.S.B.A. in Finance from Bowling Green State University, Series 7 & 66 Securities License, health and life insurance agent license, State of Michigan continuing education instructor’s license for CPA’s, and the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (™) designation. Maurice has served on the disciplinary and ethics committee for the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (™) board in Washington DC., as well examined applications for the Milton Stern CFP® Scholarship. He is also a board member of the Detroit chapter of The Society of Financial Service Professionals. Maurice has been joyfully married to his wife for nearly 8 years and has four children.
